Portable & Interactive 3D Touch Sensor Demo Device
The demo device is custom designed to showcase Tangio Printed Electronics proprietary thin-film sensors in a portable form factor.
4 interactive applications were developed to demonstrate usage with 3 types of sensors, Single Zone force Sensor, linear Potentiometer force and position Sensor, and XYZ Force and 2D position touchpad sensor.
The first revision of the device was developed during my internship and was further developed on a part-time basis afterwards to scale for low volume production.

Key design features:
- Electronics/Mechanics:
• audio, visual, and haptic feedback to sensors
• rechargable Li-Poly battery via external usb port at bottom
• auto switching between external power supply or internal battery
• hand conforming ergonomic enclosure designed with SolidWorks - Software:
• visualization of sensor response via 7” touch screen with adjustable parameters programmed in Java with Processing 3 framework
• firmware runs on Raspberry Pi 3 and embedded Atmel ATmega328, programmed in Java and C/C++
• 4 interactive games/applications showcasing the sensor’s properties, written in Java
• GUI for updating the applications on the Raspberry Pi via USB stick, written in Java
